One of my passions is teaching Yoga Nidra. This ancient practice of deep relaxation means Yogic Sleep and each 10 minutes of practice can be the equivalent of an hour of deep sleep. Ines Schubi, from Melborne,has created and hosts a free wellness pop up. This week’s class, taught by Janie Gianotsos, will start with a short overview of the seven major energy centers in the body – the Chakras and move to a guided yoga nidra with sound bowls to balance your energy.
Yoga nidra – the “sleeping” yoga – allows you to reach deep levels of healing relaxation. You can’t do yoga nidra wrong, simply find a comfortable place to listen and experience this guided meditation. Get comfy – lay on a soft bed or mat/blanket, rest in a reclining chair, etc.. (Think slumber party – a pillow, blanket or towel rolled under the knees, a soft cover if you tend to be cool, eye pillow – whatever makes you feel supremely comfortable!) for a 40 minute guided journey into deep relaxation, designed to help you balance your body’s energy and align and harmonize your Chakras. We’ll wrap-up with Q & A and reflection on the experience.

Friday Night Outdoor Yoga Nidra with Sound Bowls, every Friday, 7:30 – 8:30 pm NEW LOCATION: Heritage Village Park
Outdoor yoga nidra with sound bowls is a wonderful way to unwind your week. NEW LOCATION. Park at Lois Lenski Elementary school – 6350 S Fairfax Way, Littleton, CO 80121. It’s a little closer. If you end up at the park parking lot, simply walk over the bridge and you will see the group behind the school.Please bring water, your mat and a soft blanket for a little extra support, a pillow for your head and any other props you like to be comfortable – eye pillow, bolster or knee pillow… think “slumber party”. This area is fairly quiet and private. It’s covered too.

9:00 – 10:00 am every Saturday and Sunday during the summer, weather permitting (we do have a covered spot we can practice if rain comes during class)

Vinyasa Yoga – experience warrior poses, balancing, stretching and movement with your breath. Vinyasa classes start gentle and build. Students are encouraged to continue with the movement that best suits their body and ability and not to push beyond their limitations. All levels are welcome and options for more gentle movement are offered throughout class. Sweat Level = 3 – 8 (how hard you work is up to you.)
Gentle Yoga – experience gentle stretching to warm your body for basic yoga poses – seated, standing and on your back. We’ll explore breath and movement. Students are encouraged to move at their level. Beginners and those who prefer a slower, more gentle class are welcome. Sweat Level = 1 – 3
Yoga Nidra – the “sleeping” yoga is an ancient, guided meditation, designed to take you into a deep state of relaxation and help you relieve stress. Yoga nidra stimulates anti-aging and healing in your body. Students rest in a very comfortable position, usually on their backs, with pillows and a soft blanket. Many also like eye covers and a pillow or bolster under the knees to soften the lower back. This class is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities. Sweat Level = 0
Healing Yoga – a variety of pranayama (breath), gentle vinyasa, yin, restorative, always ending with yoga nidra and singing bowls. Very gentle – suitable for all levels with modifications offered for those with special issues. Sweat level = 3
Yin, Vin, Nidra – class begins with breathwork and yin, followed by a vinyasa flow and ending with yoga nidra. Singing bowls are often incorporated into class. Gentle movement – can be modified for those with special issues. Sweat level = 5
Restorative with Reiki and Singing Bowls – relax in comfortable restorative asana, receive Reiki (healing touch and energy) while experiencing singing bowls. Very relaxing – suitable for all levels. Sweat level = 0.
Vinyasa and Vibrations – class begins with breathwork and a settling meditation with singing bowls. An all levels vinyasa flow follows. Students are treated to a long savasana and ending meditation with the singing bowls. Suitable for all levels able to move through a basic vinyasa class. Sweat level = 7
